Research Management Centre (RMC) is the centre that responsible in managing research and development in UTM. Its core responsibility and role is to galvanize research activities at UTM and act as a ‘cleaning house’ for all application and management of research grant. RMC is also involved in the management of research and development program specifically through collaboration with players from the industry, government and private sector as well as local and international research institute. In supporting research and development growth, RMC focuses to the effort of obtaining grants from potential sponsors.

Innovation and Commercialisation Centre (ICC) was set up to focus on developing and commercializing UTM’s research products. The purpose of this centre, being the window to the industry, is to tap into the University’s ample facilities and experts. Besides commercializing the market ready products, ICC will assist in the development and value added of the prototype to the marketable level. They strive to shorten the path between basic research and application of the new knowledge where with hope to get the information generated by research as soon as possible into the hands of end users and the industry.

Centre for Community and Industry Network (CCIN) was established to enhance university-community-industry collaborations by engaging the University’s academic resources in the enrichment of civic and community life in Malaysia. They seek to accomplish this by connecting students, faculty, and community organizations together in a collaborative and innovative process that translates academic knowledge into civic responsibility to promote positive social change. They community engagement is maintained and driven through: Structured Teaching & Learning courses (service learning), Community Based Participatory Research (CBPR) Engagement, Corporate Social Responsibilities by corporate industries CE focus areas and alignment with the National & International Roadmap by multiple stakeholders such as Government, NGOS & International Associations.

University Laboratory Management Unit (PPMU) was set up to provide a quality laboratory services for analysis, scientific and engineering testing, advisory services for students, researchers and community by using latest equipment with competent and committed manpower.
