Welcome to UTM Centre for Quality and Risk Management (QRiM) Kuala Lumpur, an entity established on 1st February 2014, as part of UTM QRiM based in Skudai. QRiM KL, as we like to be known, is strategically located at the 16th Floor of Razak Tower, within the UTM’s Kuala Lumpur campus that has extensive research facilities with expertise and resources for postgraduate and undergraduate studies. Quality or customers’ satisfaction is indeed of utmost important to us at QRiM KL. Three main areas of our concern are academic quality, service quality and risk management.

The QRiM KL monitors and facilitates academic and service entities in the Kuala Lumpur campus in their provision of quality programmes and services for students and staff with emphasis on improvements. Its involvement in policy formulation, quality improvement and capacity building activities are meant to assure, maintain and enhance the quality of the faculty’s or school’s programmes, in pursuit of the UTM’s vision and mission to provide high quality programmes which are well recognised locally and internationally. We oversee activities and initiatives relating to academic quality assurance and enhancement including academic and professional accreditation / re-accreditation exercises. We also provide secretariat services to the UTM QRiM, Malaysian Qualification Agency (MQA), Engineering Accreditation Council Malaysia (EAC) and relevant task forces. We coordinate at Kuala Lumpur campus the academic and service quality award schemes and formulate related strategies, policies, guidelines and procedures for transparency and risk management.

It is our responsibility to ensure adherence to recommendations by partner accrediting agencies and professional bodies in the university plans and monitor their full implementation. We also develop a document management system to ensure accuracy and readiness of information for purposes of quality assurance activities. Training and briefing sessions to disseminate good practices are provided for all academic and administrative staff with an aim to cultivate a sense of ownership in quality assurance and promoting the culture of continual quality enhancement within the Kuala Lumpur campus.

We sincerely strive for excellence in the provision of quality support for academic programmes and service activities within the quality learning environment. We look forward to everyone continuous support.
